David Lynch’s Hong Kong

This is a tribute to David Lynch, who recently opened a nightclub in Paris. I have no idea if he’s ever been to Hong Kong, but I think he’s been influencing my Instagram feed lately.

I was looking through my iPhone photos and they’re all rather dark and gloomy. And maybe that’s because Hong Kong has been rather dark and gloomy.

The winds have shifted in Hong Kong, literally. The tropical winds that blow in blue skies from the south every summer were replaced with grey skies blowing in from mainland China’s factories from the north. I think it may have affected my mood.

Lynch might like the North Point MTR station. It’s kinda dark and the walls are deep red and there’s a few places where you can catch a cool reflection of yourself and others. Perfect for loosing yourself completely.

Hong Kong doesn’t exactly resemble Mulholland Drive. But remember kids. The owls are not what they seem.  And filters can do magical things to iPhone photos.

What do you think? Is this a proper tribute to David Lynch? A stretch at best? Think you can do better? Prove it. Please, I’m ready to be freaked out.
