Project Bandaloop rehearsing

On the side of an 8 story building, 3 aerialists rehearse a dance routine.

I recently posted about this on the Postagram blog, but I thought I’d share it here too. I was lucky enough to catch some of Project Bandaloop‘s rehearsal in (/above) the Mint Plaza yesterday. I happened to have my 8X Telephoto lens from Photojojo with me, so I used it in most of these shots.

As you can see, the telephoto lens gives a very unique look to these photos. It has a very shallow depth of field as well as some chromatic aberrations that sometimes add a neat color shift to an image (which sometimes works against an image).

For anyone interested, Project Bandaloop will be performing their aerialist routine in the Mint Plaza again today (9/9/11) at 5pm.

About DocPop

It all started with games.. During his daily ride on SF BART, Doctor Popular would constantly drain his new iPhone's battery playing Field Runners, but this app obsession soon spread from games to music. Using apps like Nanoloop and Thumbjam, Doc created an an entire album with his iPhone. He was also one of the first street musicians to perform with an iPad. Now Doc spends most of his spare time creating photography and visual art with his iPhone. Currently he is working on The Daily App Experiment, a year long collection of experimental art, and a book collecting his "appsperiments".
