Daily App Experiment #358 “Kaiser Pepperminte”

Daily App Experiment #358: "Peppermint Permanente" - Started off with a shot of one if the Kaiser Permanente buildings on Geary. To get all the windows all lined up Into a straight grid, I used #FrontView. All of the rest of the editing was done entirely

A recent trip to the doctor’s office (for a sore butt bone) brought me to Kaiser’s wonderfully aged buildings on Geary Street. Using a combination of FrontView and PhotoForge2 I created this above appsperiment. Here’s my process:

I started off with this not so impressive shot of the side of the medical building.

Which I then used the FrontView app to “flatten” the perspective of the image. Here’s what the app looks like…

And here is the result.

I imported this flattened image into PhotoForge 2 and ran it through their “TinyPlanets” filter. Yes, PF2 has a TinyPlanets filter… and it’s pretty awesome! I actually prefer the options in their filter over the TinyPlanet app itself.

After getting this cool effect, I twisted the image using the “Twirl” filter and did some final color processing within their “Pop! Cam” filters.

About DocPop

It all started with games.. During his daily ride on SF BART, Doctor Popular would constantly drain his new iPhone's battery playing Field Runners, but this app obsession soon spread from games to music. Using apps like Nanoloop and Thumbjam, Doc created an an entire album with his iPhone. He was also one of the first street musicians to perform with an iPad. Now Doc spends most of his spare time creating photography and visual art with his iPhone. Currently he is working on The Daily App Experiment, a year long collection of experimental art, and a book collecting his "appsperiments".
